Oyster Pudding Casserole

6 slices bread
1 pint Oysters
3 tsp. salt
Dash cayenne pepper
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 lb. cheddar cheese, chopped
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. mustard
1/4 tsp. paprika

Place 3 slices bread in ungreased casserole. Cover with Oysters. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and the cayenne; cover with cheese. Repeat layers. Beat eggs slightly; add mustard, paprika, 1 teaspoon salt and milk. Pour over ingredients in casserole. Bake at 350 F for 30 to 40 minutes.

Serves 6
