Sea Scallops En Casserole

2 lbs. Scallops
1/2 cup dry wine
2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp. chopped herbs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup light cream
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Preheat oven to 450 F. Wash Scallops; drain well in absorbent paper. Place Scallops in bottom of large oval well greased baking dish.

Mix wine, lemon juice, chives and herbs, salt and pepper; pour over all. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered in preheated oven 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Run under broiler to brown bread crumbs. Serve at once over rice.
