Hash Brown Casserole

2 (10 oz.) package frozen hash brown potatoes
2 cups sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. onion
2 cups crushed corn flakes
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups grated cheese
2 cups either chicken, ham, Tuna, or beef/hamburger

Thaw hash browns. Combine sour cream, soup and 1/2 cup butter. Add salt, onion, and cheese, mix well. Add potatoes and chicken (or your choice). Place mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Combine 1/4 cup melted butter and corn flakes; sprinkle on top of mixture. Bake at 350 F for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
