Bowties and White Bean Casserole

2 tb Olive oil
1/4 c Onions; chopped
1 Clove garlic
1/2 c Low-sodium tomato sauce
1/2 ts Dried basil
1/4 ts Dried thyme
1/4 ts Dried marjoram
1/4 ts Freshly ground black pepper
1 cn (15 oz.) small white beans
1 c Bowties; cooked
1/4 c Low-fat provolone cheese; shredded
1 tb Snipped fresh parsley


Heat the oil in a medium skillet and saute the onions and garlic for 2 minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce, basil, thyme, marjoram, and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, over medium heat until the onions are cooked, about 5 minutes. Stir in the beans and hot pasta; mix well. Transfer the bean-pasta mixture to a 1-quart casserole and sprinkle the mixture with the cheese. Broil until the cheese melts. Sprinkle with the parsley.
